The radio is fully functional on its AM, FM and shortwave bands, while the two cassette decks need repair, so it suits a collector who wants a working radio with the classic ghetto blaster look or a restoration project.

Item Details

Type: Portable stereo radio double cassette recorder (boombox)

Brand: Sanyo

Model: M-W2K

Radio Bands: AM / FM / SW1 / SW2

Features: Dual cassette deck, headphone jack, telescopic antenna, integrated handle

Color: Silver/gray

Power: AC cable or 6 "D" batteries; multi-voltage selector on the side

Country of Manufacture: Japan

Condition

Sold as-is for parts or repair because the cassette decks do not work. Radio: fully functional and picks up stations clearly across the available bands; the telescopic antenna is intact and extends well. Cassette decks: non-functional – the tape players do not play or spin, most likely because of aged belts that need replacement, a common issue with vintage units. Cosmetics: good vintage condition with signs of wear consistent with age, plus a small chip/crack on the top corner of the plastic casing (see photos). Sanyo was one of the major Japanese audio makers of the era, and the M-W2K shows the silver styling typical of that period. With a belt replacement, this vintage boombox could be brought back to full cassette operation; as it stands, it already works as a radio and a striking piece of retro decor.

What's Included

Sanyo M-W2K boombox

AC power cable

Batteries are not included

Shipping

Free worldwide shipping from Ukraine with a tracking number.
