It is a cultural-themed piece rather than a purely political one, which gives it a different character from the usual hammer-and-sickle pins in a Soviet badge collection.

Item Details

Type: Pin badge

Occasion: 50th Anniversary of the USSR

Event: Festival of Folk Arts

Republic: Ukrainian SSR

Motif: Lyre

Category: Soviet commemorative badge

Country of Manufacture: USSR

Condition

Used vintage condition. The lyre is a familiar symbol of music and the arts. For collectors, regional badges tied to the Ukrainian SSR offer a way to specialize within Soviet pins, and this festival badge pairs a milestone anniversary of the Soviet Union with a distinctly cultural theme. Anyone who collects pins from the Ukrainian SSR or from Soviet cultural festivals will find this lyre badge a distinctive piece. It pairs well with other regional and festival pins in a themed display.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0808/0500/3413/files/soviet-badge-50th-anniversary-ussr-folk-arts-festival-1.jpg?v=1791722595
