It has a rich, dark natural patina and weighs 465 g (1.03 lb), so it feels substantial in the hand. Made in the USSR in the 1960s, it reflects the Soviet tradition of sports themes in Socialist Realist art.

Item Details

Type: Bronze figurine / small sculpture

Subject: Young football (soccer) goalkeeper in gloves and cap

Material: Solid bronze with dark natural patina

Weight: 465 g (1.03 lb)

Style: Socialist Realism / sports art

Era: 1960s

Markings: Soviet price mark «Цс 1р 45к» (1 ruble 45 kopecks) on the base

Country of Manufacture: USSR

Condition

Used, in excellent vintage condition. A price mark like the one on the base was typical of mass-produced Soviet decorative art, and it helps confirm the origin. As a heavy bronze piece, it works as a paperweight or desk figure, and it will suit collectors of Soviet sculpture, football history and Socialist Realist art.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0808/0500/3413/files/s-l1600_037282ba-c4c9-49b2-b84a-df6759d07a9a.jpg?v=1791481403
https://sovietvintagestore.com/products/soviet-bronze-goalkeeper-figurine-solid-bronze-socialist-realism
