The seller believes it was probably made at the Vasylkiv Majolica Factory in Ukraine, in a traditional Ukrainian folk style. Raised floral patterns give each piece a pleasant texture.

Item Details

Type: Three-piece ceramic set

Origin: USSR (probably Vasylkiv Majolica Factory, Ukraine)

Era: 1970s-1980s

Material: Glazed ceramic / majolica

Color: Rich brown / caramel

Jug: Anthropomorphic jug (kumanets) with a fixed neck shaped like a stylized head, open top, curved spout and decorative handle

Cup: Matching open-top textured cup

Sugar Bowl: With lid and two small handles

Condition

Used, in very good vintage condition. Majolica of this style belongs to a long Ukrainian ceramic tradition. The set works as a display on a kitchen shelf or a dresser. A set of this kind brings some of the warmth of Ukrainian folk ceramics into a modern kitchen. The jug, cup and sugar bowl share the same glaze and relief, so they read as one matching group when displayed together.

What's Included

1 anthropomorphic jug (open top)

1 sugar bowl with lid

1 textured cup

Shipping

Carefully packed and shipped worldwide from Ukraine with a tracking number.
