Hand-painted miniatures of this kind were prized as gifts and decorative objects in the Soviet era. A dated, titled piece with initials is easier to identify and fits well into a collection of Russian lacquer art. Because a lacquer miniature is painted by hand, no two boxes are identical, and the initials make this one simple to catalog. It is a modest but characteristic example of Mstera work. Lacquer boxes were often given as presents, and they are still collected as small works of art. Because the seller's information about this one is brief, the photos should be your main guide to the painting and the overall wear.

Shipping

Carefully packed and shipped worldwide from Ukraine with a tracking number.
