Devices like this were a staple of Soviet homes, used to listen to state radio programs over the wired radio network. Its sleek black rectangular body with a cream-yellow lattice grille and the stylized "Zorka" (Зорька, "Dawn") script logo give it a clean Mid-Century Modern look.

Item Details

Type: Subscriber loudspeaker for wired radio

Model: Zorka (Зорька)

Maker: Mayak plant, Kursk, USSR

Era: 1960s

Standard: GOST 5961-59 (technical standard from 1959)

Voltage: Designed for the Soviet 30V wired radio network

Housing: Plastic / bakelite, black with cream-yellow lattice grille

Markings: Embossed price on the back "Цена 3р 50к" (price 3 rubles 50 kopecks)

Includes: Original cable and plug

Condition

Used, in good vintage condition for its age. Today this Soviet radio is sought after by collectors of Soviet radio equipment, by interior designers looking for an authentic retro accent, and by film and theater prop departments.

Shipping

Carefully packed and shipped worldwide from Ukraine with a tracking number.
