About This Piece
The Red Army was formed in early 1918 after the revolution, and its creation was commemorated in Soviet times with anniversaries, posters and badges like this one. Aluminum was a common and light material for mass-produced Soviet pins, so they are easy to wear and store. This item is sold, and similar Soviet pins and badges can be found in our collection. For collectors it works well as part of a display of Soviet military anniversaries or of USSR propaganda pins. The date 1918 on the design makes the theme easy to recognize.
