About This Piece
Posters were one of the main ways the Soviet state spoke to the public, displayed in factories, schools and streets. 1985 was the year Mikhail Gorbachev took office as General Secretary, so the poster comes from a turning point in Soviet history. A large original like this is a strong fit for collectors of Soviet political art and memorabilia, or as a bold wall decoration in a study, loft or gallery wall. The poster is described as an original printed in the USSR, so it is a good way to own a genuine example of Soviet visual culture rather than a modern copy. Because the sheet is large, please plan the framing or mounting in advance and use the stated dimensions to check that it fits your wall.
