About this piece

Soviet record player Radiotehnika 301M Stereo by RRR Riga, late 1980s, with built-in amp, 33/45 RPM, in working order. Ships worldwide from Ukraine.

From the seller's notes

This Soviet record player is a Radiotehnika 301M-Stereo, a stereo electrophone made by the RRR (Rīgas Radio Rūpņīca) factory in Riga, Latvia, in the late 1980s. It plays 33 and 45 RPM records and has its own built-in amplifier, so you only need to connect a pair of speakers. The dark case, wooden side panels and vertical slider controls give it the classic techno-industrial look of Soviet hi-fi.

Cosmetically it is in good vintage condition, with some minor scuffs and scratches on the dust cover and body consistent with age (please see photos). The wooden veneer on the sides is well preserved, and the original factory labels are still in place. Note that the player is designed for 220V; use in the USA or Canada requires a step-up voltage transformer.

About This Piece

Radiotehnika was the brand of the Riga Radio Factory, one of the best-known makers of consumer audio in the Soviet Union. The 301M-Stereo combined a turntable and a stereo amplifier in one cabinet, and its DIN inputs let owners run a radio or tape deck through the same amplifier. Today this vintage Soviet turntable appeals to collectors of Soviet hi-fi, fans of Soviet vinyl records and anyone building a retro listening corner around a genuine Soviet record player.
