From the seller's notes
This Soviet chess set is a complete 32-piece plastic set in the "Cossacks vs. Turks" design, with one army modeled as Ukrainian Cossacks and the other as Ottoman troops. The pieces are finished in high-contrast black and white with a glossy surface. It is a distinctive alternative to a standard Staunton set for anyone who collects Soviet souvenirs or unusual chess variants.

About This Piece
Figural chess sets were a popular type of Soviet souvenir and toy, valued for durable plastic and a folk-art look. Choosing Cossacks and Turks as the two sides turns every game into a small history scene, which is why sets like this attract both chess players and collectors of 20th-century Eastern European toys. It works equally well for play or as a display piece.
