About This Piece
Space-themed decorations became hugely popular in the Soviet Union after the launch of Sputnik and Yuri Gagarin’s flight, and New Year trees across the country were hung with rockets and satellites alongside traditional stars. This Soviet Christmas tree garland captures that Mid-Century Modern, Space Age look in vibrant colors. It is a natural fit for collectors of vintage Soviet Christmas ornaments, fans of space exploration history and anyone building a retro holiday display with a story behind it.
