About This Piece

The TAI-43 was based on the captured German FF-33 field phone and adapted to Soviet production standards. It was known for its reliability in harsh field conditions. The heavy Bakelite case, the crank generator and the Russian-language markings make it a characteristic piece for collectors of military communications gear, vintage telephones and reenactment displays. Collectors usually display it on a shelf or desk, and since this example is sold as non-working, it is intended for decoration and display rather than for use as a telephone.
