About This Piece

Fur-lined leather helmets were standard winter gear for Soviet aviators in the 1950s, designed to keep pilots warm while carrying radio headsets in the ear pads. Dated examples with a legible factory stamp are valued by collectors of Cold War aviation militaria. This Soviet flight helmet is a strong display piece for a collection of Soviet Air Force items or early Cold War history.
