About This Piece
Vladimir Lenin, founder of the Soviet state, was the most widely portrayed figure in Soviet art, and small statues like this one stood on desks and shelves across the country. The bolted base is typical of Soviet industrial manufacturing. Today a metal Lenin statue is a sought-after piece of political history for collectors of Cold War memorabilia and Soviet sculpture, and it also works as a bold accent in an office, a study or a library-style interior.
