This Soviet lens is a Triplet 69-3 4/40mm made by BelOMO (MMZ), originally fitted to the Vilia series of cameras. A classic three-element triplet, it is valued for sharp center rendering with an artistic, slightly swirly bokeh and vintage color.

About This Piece

Lenses removed from Soviet compact cameras are popular with Lomography and DIY enthusiasts, who adapt them to mirrorless bodies such as Sony E-mount, Fujifilm X and Micro Four Thirds for a distinct retro look. The simple triplet design gives the character that modern digital lenses rarely reproduce.
