About This Piece

This type of microphone was a common accessory for Soviet reel-to-reel and cassette recorders such as the Dona, Vesna and Romantika. Because its body is more interesting than its electronics, enthusiasts often like to keep the retro housing and modify it with a modern XLR or USB capsule. As a display piece it brings a retro space-age touch to a studio or shelf.

  2. Power up slowly and check before regular use; vintage parts may need service.
  3. Keep dry and away from dust; store with lens and battery covers on.
  4. Remove batteries before long-term storage.
