About This Piece
Military orders and medals of the USSR were awarded to soldiers and officers for courage, combat service and merit, and many families kept them for decades as a record of a relative's service. Awards that stay connected to a named recipient are especially meaningful, because the name makes it possible to research the soldier's service history in archives. Silver Soviet awards with family provenance are a core focus for collectors of Soviet militaria. This piece is offered as found in the family, with its story available to the next owner, and makes a respectful addition to a collection of Soviet orders and medals or to a display honoring the generation that served in the Soviet armed forces.
