About this piece

Soviet night light Kolobok, new old stock with original box and manual, made at the Komponent plant in Poltava, 1980s. Ships worldwide from Ukraine.

From the seller's notes

This Soviet night light is the Kolobok, a character lamp based on the famous Russian folklore figure, made at the Komponent plant in Poltava. It is new old stock that has never been used and comes with its original factory box and paper instruction manual with warranty certificate. The lamp has a hand-painted face and a yellow dome that gives off a soft, warm glow.

Condition

New old stock, in excellent vintage condition. The lamp has never been used and is functional. The box shows some light age-related wear but remains sturdy. It has a standard Soviet/European 2-pin plug and runs on 220V, so buyers in the US and elsewhere will need a plug adapter and should check voltage compatibility, as a transformer may be needed for 110V systems.

About This Piece

Kolobok is a well-known character in Russian folk tales, and this space-age style night lamp turns him into a piece of Soviet kitsch. Boxed examples with the manual are hard to come by, which makes it a charming find for collectors of vintage lighting and USSR-era memorabilia, as well as a cute lamp for a bedroom or nursery.
