This Soviet officer greatcoat (shinel) is a double-breasted military overcoat in heavy steel-grey wool, in unissued new old stock condition. It comes from old military / militia storage. Shoulder boards, collar tabs and original brass buttons are all in place.

Condition
New without tags, unissued and deadstock, with no signs of wear. The coat is clean, crisp and fully intact, with all buttons and insignia present. The measurements above were taken flat and are approximate.
About This Piece
Heavy wool greatcoats were designed for harsh winters and were standard cold-weather wear for Soviet military and militia personnel. A coat that was never issued, with its insignia still attached, is a good fit for collectors of Cold War uniforms, reenactors and vintage coat enthusiasts. This piece is sold, and similar uniforms can be found in our collection. The shoulder boards with stars and piping and the black velvet collar tabs with stars are the details to look at first in the photos, together with the measurement photos for fit.

How to return an item

- I will confirm the return and reply with instructions. Items sent back without contacting me first cannot be accepted.
- The item must be returned in the same condition you received it, with all parts, accessories and original packaging that came with it.
- Return shipping is paid by the buyer. Please use a tracked shipping service and pack the item carefully — vintage pieces are fragile, and I can't refund items damaged on the way back.

Your bank or card company may need extra time to post the refund. The original shipping was free, so there is nothing to deduct for it; import duties or taxes you paid in your country are not refundable by me.
