New old stock (NOS), never used. The receiver is in pristine condition with no yellowing or cracks, and the internal components are in their factory-original state. The original factory box shows minor shelf wear consistent with age but is structurally sound. This vintage item is sold as a collectible: because of the nature of wired radio technology, it is intended mainly for display or for enthusiasts who understand Soviet wired broadcasting systems.
About This Piece
In the Soviet Union, wired radio (provodnoe veshchanie) was a staple of nearly every home. Receivers like this plugged into a special radio wall outlet and carried three state-run channels, selected with the push-buttons on the front. Complete boxed sets with their papers are a fine find for collectors of Cold War-era electronics, Soviet memorabilia or vintage industrial design, and this Soviet radio makes a clean, minimalist display piece.
