About This Piece

A brown dress with a white apron for special occasions was standard attire for schoolgirls across the USSR for decades, and this set was made in 1989, shortly before the Soviet Union ended. Garments that survive unworn with their factory tags are useful references for the way uniforms were manufactured, labeled and priced. They are sought by historical reenactors, collectors of Soviet memorabilia and theater productions.
