About This Piece
Luna-2 was a Soviet probe launched in 1959 that became the first spacecraft to reach the surface of the Moon, which is why the name appears on commemorative space items. Cosmos-themed pins and badges are among the most popular areas of Soviet collecting. It is sold, and similar space memorabilia can be found in our collection. Space badges are a good match for collectors of Soviet cosmos history, and they can be displayed together with Sputnik, Vostok and Gagarin pins. Because only the subject was named, the photos are the best source for the exact colors, lettering and any markings on the reverse.
