About this piece

Soviet tin toy excavator with bulldozer blade, pressed steel with plastic tracks, 1970s-1980s, price stamp 4 rub 50 kop. Ships worldwide from Ukraine.

From the seller's notes

This Soviet tin toy is a large tracked excavator with a front-mounted bulldozer blade, made in the USSR in the 1970s or 1980s. The body and buckets are pressed steel (tin), the tracks are flexible black plastic, and hand levers operate the excavator boom and front blade. It is a classic example of the sturdy metal toys Soviet children grew up with.

About This Piece

Soviet toy factories favored durable pressed-steel construction, and construction machines such as excavators, cranes and dump trucks were among the most popular designs. A large working excavator with levers and a dozer blade was a prized toy, and the original price stamp on the base confirms its Soviet origin. Today these toys are collected for their solid build and nostalgic appeal.
