About this piece

Vintage Soviet tin toy motorcycle with rider and wired remote, Kiev factory stamp, works. Circa 1970s-80s, 11.8 in long. Ships worldwide from Ukraine.

From the seller's notes

This Soviet tin toy motorcycle is a remote-control model with its original plastic rider, made at the Kiev factory in the USSR. The red lithographed tin body, the rider in a yellow jumpsuit and helmet, and the tethered orange remote control unit make it a complete set. It was likely produced in the 1970s or 1980s and is a lively piece for collectors of vintage Soviet toys.

Condition

Used, in very good vintage condition. The basic function was tested: the electric motor engages and the rear wheel spins when activated from the remote. Because of the toy's age, a full demonstration of every steering and movement nuance may need minor lubrication or fine-tuning. The red paint is vibrant with only minor scuffs and play wear, and there is no significant rust. The plastic chrome-effect parts show some dulling but are intact. The yellow rider has no cracks or breaks, the remote is complete, and the cable is intact. The battery compartment, made for an old flat 3R12 4.5V battery, is clean. Please review the photos carefully.

About This Piece

Remote-control toys were a popular type of Soviet toy, and this one keeps the markings that tell its story: the factory logo, the original price stamp and the rear license plate.
