About This Piece
For years after independence, the Ukrainian police force kept the name militia (militsiya), inherited from the Soviet period, until it was replaced by the National Police in 2015. Caps like this one, with the red band and the Tryzub cockade, belong to that transitional era of Ukrainian law enforcement. This Ukrainian militia visor cap is a solid addition to a collection of European militaria and law enforcement memorabilia, or a striking historical display piece.
