About This Piece
Presentation folders like this were prepared for formal occasions in Soviet institutions and are tied to a specific date, office and signature. The document comes from the late Cold War period and gives a direct look at how the Soviet internal security structure marked promotions in the senior ranks. Collectors of military and political history value papers addressed to high-ranking officials and signed by a minister. The name of the original recipient is not listed here.
