About This Piece

Mashinostroenie (“Machine Building”) was the Moscow publisher behind much of the Soviet engineering literature, including large series of workplace safety posters. Designed to be understood in a second on a noisy shop floor, these posters relied on expressive characters, strong color and short commands, and today they read as fine examples of late Soviet graphic design.

This vintage Soviet safety poster will appeal to collectors of Soviet memorabilia, industrial decor and graphic design, and it makes a striking framed piece for a workshop, garage, office or loft.
