About This Piece

Home film projectors like the Volna-3 are a window into how Soviet families watched amateur movies in the 1980s. A set that still has its matching passport, case and accessory bag is harder to assemble than a bare projector, which makes this one interesting for collectors of Soviet technology and cinema equipment.

Care & handling

  1. Most Soviet electronics run on 220V — use a step-down converter in the US.
  2. Power up slowly and check before regular use; vintage parts may need service.
  3. Keep dry and away from dust; store with lens and battery covers on.
  4. Remove batteries before long-term storage.
