About this piece
Dulevo porcelain carp figurine dated 1957, with luster glaze and gold highlights, marked on the base. Ships worldwide from Ukraine with tracking.
From the seller's notes
This Dulevo porcelain figurine is a carp finished in a Soviet luster glaze that gives the body a mother-of-pearl, iridescent sheen. Gold highlights are applied by hand to the fins and scales. The base carries the Dulevo factory mark and the year 1957, so the date is stamped on the piece itself.

About This Piece
Dulevo is among the oldest porcelain factories in Russia and is known for the quality of its work. Lusterware of this period is valued for the way the surface changes color in different light. A dated and fully marked figurine like this one is easy to identify, which is helpful for anyone building a collection of Soviet porcelain animals. Because the factory mark, the year and the quality grade are all on the base, the figure can be checked against reference marks used by Dulevo, which collectors often do before adding a piece to a collection.
