This Russian vintage book is a Soviet-era edition of Safari Under Kilimanjaro (Сафари под Килиманджаро) by Josef Vagner, the Czech zoologist, traveler and director of the Dvůr Králové Zoo, written together with Nadya Shneyderova. It is a richly illustrated reportage about Vagner's expeditions to Africa and the work of capturing and caring for African wildlife.

Condition
Very good vintage pre-owned condition. The dust jacket shows minor shelf wear, light scuffing and minor age-toning, but remains intact and vibrant. The binding is tight and secure with minimal wear to the spine edges. Pages are clean, crisp and fully legible, with no major rips, tears or heavy stains, and the color photo plates are bright and well preserved. Please review all photos to assess the exact condition.
About This Piece
The book blends several visual styles: documentary photos of African landscapes and animals, stylized drawings of a rhinoceros, leopard, ostrich and mythical creatures, and endpapers decorated with African tribal motifs. Produced as a co-edition with the Prague publisher Artia, it is a handsome example of Soviet-era book design and a good pick for collectors of Soviet books, illustrated wildlife titles and travel literature.

- The item must be returned in the same condition you received it, with all parts, accessories and original packaging that came with it.
- Return shipping is paid by the buyer. Please use a tracked shipping service and pack the item carefully — vintage pieces are fragile, and I can't refund items damaged on the way back.
