About This Piece

Sets of plates like these were produced for classrooms, clubs and libraries, retelling the official story of the Soviet state through its most famous images. The 1988 date places the series at the very end of the USSR, when perestroika was already reshaping the country. Together the eight Soviet propaganda posters form a compact visual history, easy to frame as a matching group or keep in a collection of Soviet graphic art.
