About This Piece

The Proton factory in Kharkiv produced audio and television equipment in the Soviet period. A recorder dated 1992 sits right at the point where the USSR had ended and the factory lines still followed Soviet standards, as the GOST number on the label shows. That makes it interesting to people who collect late Soviet electronics, repair old cassette decks or want an authentic retro prop.
