From the seller's notes
This Soviet copper plaque, titled Elegant Muse, is a repousse wall piece from the 1960s–1970s, made by the traditional chasing technique that gives a striking 3D relief. It shows a highly stylized female figure in a flowing gown, framed by abstract botanical elements and radiant sunbeams. The look combines mid-century modernism with Soviet folk-art influences.

About This Piece
Chekanka, or metal embossing, was a popular decorative craft in the Soviet Union, and mid-century pieces like this one are sought for their handmade relief and warm copper tones. It would look right in a mid-century modern interior, on a gallery wall or in a collection of Soviet-era decorative art. The narrow shape of the plaque makes it a good fit for a hallway wall or a spot between windows.
