About This Piece
Anniversaries of the October Revolution were observed every year in the USSR, but round numbers such as sixty and seventy were marked with special issues. The cruiser Aurora, now a museum ship in St. Petersburg, was a favorite design subject. A set of Aurora badges from different anniversaries lets a collector compare how the design changed from one jubilee to the next. Sixty-year jubilee badges are often found alongside seventieth anniversary issues, and holding both gives a quick comparison of how the Aurora motif was drawn in different years. The item is small, lightweight and easy to frame or store in a coin album.
