About This Piece
Polonne is known for its animalistic series, and this model is liked for the contrast between white porcelain and bright gold. The figure shows a tender moment between mother and young in a plain, mid-century Soviet style. It fits well in a collection of Soviet or European porcelain. The glossy white glaze and the small gold accents keep the look light and elegant, so the figure works well alone on a shelf or grouped with other porcelain animals such as birds and dogs from the same period.
