About This Piece

The male dancer is shown in a dynamic squat pose, wearing red sharovary trousers, an embroidered white shirt and a red hat. His partner stands in a white dress with colorful floral and ribbon patterns, a green skirt and a flower wreath with long ribbons. Small dance figures like this were a popular subject for Soviet porcelain factories, and they make a bright shelf piece next to other Ukrainian folk art.
