From the seller's notes
This Soviet porcelain footballer figurine shows a young player paying homage to the legendary Dynamo sports club, with the diamond-shaped "D" emblem on the chest. The boy wears a white uniform with blue trim, holds a brightly colored soccer ball and stands on a base with gold accents. It was made at the Polonne ZhK factory in Ukraine in the mid-20th century, in the 1950s-1960s.

About This Piece
Football was one of the most popular sports in the USSR, and Dynamo was among its best-known clubs, so sports themes turned up in the porcelain of the period as well as in bronze and plaster. Polonne made many small figurines of children, athletes and folk characters, and the red «ЖК» mark identifies its work. This one is an appealing piece for collectors of Soviet porcelain, football history or sports memorabilia.
