About This Piece

Agitplakat was a Soviet publishing house producing mass-circulation posters on political and social themes, and satirical issues like this one used caricature and short verses to criticize negligence, bribery and idleness. This sheet refers to the 26th Party Congress, so it belongs to the early 1980s campaigns on work discipline. The outsized format and the cartoon-like figures make it unusual among political posters, and it is large enough to frame as a statement wall piece or to keep as a document of late Soviet graphic design.
