About this piece
Vintage Soviet desk fan VE-1 from 1972 with a metal body and soft rubber blades, tested and working, 220V. Ships worldwide from Ukraine with tracking.
From the seller's notes
This vintage Soviet desk fan is a VE-1 (ВЭ-1) table fan manufactured in 1972, a classic example of Soviet industrial design with a sleek, aerodynamic bullet-shaped body. It has been tested and works: the motor runs smoothly and provides a strong, steady breeze. Equally at home as a functional appliance or as a decor piece for a loft, a mid-century modern interior or a collection of Soviet memorabilia.

Condition
Used, in good vintage condition. Tested and working: the motor runs smoothly. There are natural signs of age, including minor scuffs and paint wear. The fan retains its original wiring and vintage power switch on the base. Please note this is a 220V device; to use it in the USA or Canada (110V), you will need a step-up voltage transformer.
About This Piece
The VE-1 reflects the Space Age aesthetic that was popular in the USSR in the 1960s and 1970s. Its three large, soft brown blades were a signature safety feature of the time, designed so that the fan could run without a cage. The heavy metal neck lets you adjust the vertical angle of the airflow, and the solid metal housing and cast base give it a reassuring weight that modern plastic fans lack. A striking, working vintage Soviet desk fan with clear factory markings and a documented year of manufacture.
