About This Piece
Mephistopheles, the devil who bargains for Faust's soul in the German legend and in Goethe's play, has long been a favorite subject for decorative sculpture. With a weight of more than 600 grams, this holder sits firmly on a desk and can double as a paperweight. It is a great find for lovers of oddities and curiosities, Gothic office decor or Faustian themes, and it adds a touch of dark humor to a writing desk, bookshelf or study.
Use it for pens, pencils, brushes or tools, or simply display it as a small sculpture; the deep patina and detailed casting look good from every angle and make it a memorable piece among vintage desk accessories.
