This piece of East German communist memorabilia is a commemorative medal from the second "Deutschlandtreffen der Jugend" (Meeting of German Youth), held in Berlin in 1954 by the FDJ (Freie Deutsche Jugend, Free German Youth). The front shows three young people before the FDJ flag in blue, yellow and red enamel.

About This Piece
The Deutschlandtreffen youth festivals were massive events in the early years of the GDR, organized to promote socialist ideals and the reunification of Germany on socialist terms. Medals from these gatherings are sought by collectors of Cold War memorabilia, festival medals and East German history. With its bright enamel and clear inscriptions, this example displays well alongside other Eastern Bloc political items.

How to return an item

- I will confirm the return and reply with instructions. Items sent back without contacting me first cannot be accepted.
- The item must be returned in the same condition you received it, with all parts, accessories and original packaging that came with it.
- Return shipping is paid by the buyer. Please use a tracked shipping service and pack the item carefully — vintage pieces are fragile, and I can't refund items damaged on the way back.
