From the seller's notes

The Kobzar (Кобзарь) is a Soviet mantel clock from the early 1980s with an ornate neoclassical look, a wooden case, gold-tone floral bas-relief and a classic Roman numeral dial. This example has an original hand-engraved metal plaque on top with a birthday dedication dated August 23, 1983. It is not working and is offered for parts, restoration or decorative use.

An original factory paper tag on the bottom shows the model name and movement type. Please see the photos.

About This Piece

The hand-engraved plaque gives this clock a personal history, as a gift from 1983, while the case is a good example of late-Soviet decorative design. It will interest collectors of Soviet clocks and anyone planning a restoration, or a retro project that reuses the roomy interior behind the vintage exterior.
