About This Piece

Hardcase briefcases with buckle straps were standard official luggage in the Soviet Union, and the black-and-brown combination with steel corners was meant to survive travel and daily use. Cases of this type are associated with state and security officials, although a specific KGB issue for this piece is not documented. A truly unused example from the Cold War period is hard to find, so it appeals to collectors of KGB and spy-era memorabilia and to anyone who wants a distinctive vintage carry piece.
