From the seller's notes
This Soviet desk set is a detailed, stylized model of DniproHES, the Dnieper Hydroelectric Station in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, made in the USSR around the 1970s. The curved dam is rendered in alternating yellow and blue plastic “water flows” above a blue mirror-like strip, with the control building and a Lenin profile on the right. It comes with its original cardboard box labeled “Письменный прибор” (writing set).

About This Piece
DniproHES on the Dnieper River was one of the flagship projects of early Soviet industrialization and a frequent subject of official souvenirs. The original price of 16 rubles 70 kopecks was a considerable sum in the USSR, which suggests this desk set was intended as a prestige gift. It is a strong piece for collectors of Soviet desk accessories and industrial memorabilia.
