About this piece

Soviet Meteor-S 22-89mm f/2.4 cine zoom lens for Kinor-16 16mm cameras, KOMZ, serial 910935, made 1991. Ships worldwide from Ukraine with tracking.

From the seller's notes

This Meteor-S 22–89mm f/2.4 is a Soviet cine zoom lens, originally made for professional 16mm film cameras of the Kinor-16 series. It is an all-metal lens with built-in gear mechanisms for focus and zoom, and the aperture stays at f/2.4 throughout the zoom range. Filmmakers and lens adapters look for lenses like this because of their vintage rendering and bokeh.

Condition

Used, in excellent exterior condition for its age with minimal signs of use. There are no major dents or deep scratches, and the markings, distance scales and aperture values are clear and legible. The glass is clean with the factory blue coating in excellent condition and no deep scratches, mold or delamination. As with any vintage lens, tiny dust particles may be inside. Please note the lens has its original Soviet mount, so using it on a modern digital camera needs a special adapter or modification; check compatibility first.

About This Piece

The Meteor-S is often adapted to crop-sensor mirrorless systems such as Micro Four Thirds, the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera or Sony E-mount in crop mode. Adapters like it because it was built as a professional cinema lens, while collectors of Soviet optics value it as a piece of Kinor-16 equipment. Decide in advance whether you plan to adapt it, since that determines which mount adapter you will need.
