About This Piece
The Order of the Red Star was one of the most widely recognized Soviet combat decorations, awarded for personal bravery and distinguished military service; during World War II it was given to soldiers and officers across the Red Army. A numbered order with a known recipient is especially valued, because the serial number allows the future owner to research the award and the officer's combat path and unit history in the Central Archives of the Russian Ministry of Defense (TsAMO). With its documented 1945 award date and family history, this order is a meaningful piece for any collection of Soviet WWII medals and orders.
