About this piece
Soviet porcelain figurine of a sleeping child on a crescent moon from Polonne, 1960s-1970s, small chip on the moon tip. Ships worldwide from Ukraine.
From the seller's notes
This Soviet porcelain figurine shows a peaceful baby sleeping soundly on a crescent moon, a design often called Moon Child. It was produced in the USSR in the 1960s-1970s at the Polonne Artistic Ceramics Factory. The glazed porcelain has hand-painted details, including the sleeping face and vibrant orange-red hood and booties.

About This Piece
Polonne figurines like this one are small enough for a shelf or cabinet, and the gentle sleeping-child theme has made them a favorite among collectors of Soviet porcelain. The chipped moon tip is the main flaw to note when judging the piece. Pay attention to the close-up photos of the moon tip, which show the break clearly. Apart from that chip, the glaze is smooth, the colors are bright and the main body has no cracks or repairs, so the piece remains a pleasant shelf figure. A small factory mark and number can be found on the bottom.
