About This Piece
Large illustrated books on cosmonautics were a proud genre of Soviet publishing, produced in the years after Sputnik and Gagarin's 1961 flight to present the space program to the public. The mix of photographs and technical drawings makes this volume a handy visual reference as well as a collectible. It will interest space history readers, collectors of Soviet printed matter and anyone building a library on the Cold War space race.
