About this piece
Soviet wooden mushroom figurine: glossy lacquered mushroom family on a wooden base with faux forest moss. Made in USSR. Ships worldwide from Ukraine.
From the seller's notes
This Soviet wooden mushroom figurine is a vintage desk souvenir made in the USSR, showing a family of glossy lacquered mushrooms growing from a wooden base. The mushrooms have rich brown caps and lighter stalks, and the base is decorated with faux forest moss and dried vegetation tucked between the stems to create a small woodland scene. A charming bit of Soviet retro decor for a desk or shelf.

About This Piece
Mushroom picking is a much-loved tradition in the forests of Ukraine, Russia and the other former Soviet republics, so it is no surprise that mushrooms were a favorite subject for Soviet souvenirs and folk-style decor. Wooden pieces like this were sold in souvenir shops and given as small gifts, and many ended up on office desks and living room shelves. Today they appeal to collectors of USSR memorabilia as well as fans of cottagecore and vintage woodland style. It also works as a decorative paperweight or a cozy accent on a bookshelf.
