About This Piece
In the Soviet Union the decorated fir tree belonged to New Year rather than Christmas, and from the 1930s onward it became the centerpiece of the most loved family holiday of the year. The crowning ornament was very often a red star, echoing the ruby stars on the towers of the Moscow Kremlin and replacing the angels and Stars of Bethlehem of earlier times. Illuminated plastic stars like this one were a common sight in apartments, schools and offices across the country in the 1970s.

How to return an item

- I will confirm the return and reply with instructions. Items sent back without contacting me first cannot be accepted.
- The item must be returned in the same condition you received it, with all parts, accessories and original packaging that came with it.
- Return shipping is paid by the buyer. Please use a tracked shipping service and pack the item carefully — vintage pieces are fragile, and I can't refund items damaged on the way back.
